Financial Overview for IPGs
To practice as a pharmacist in Canada, IPGs must budget for various fees throughout the licensure process, covering enrollment, document evaluation, exams, and licensure. If additional training is required, IPGs should account for those expenses as well.
Cost Breakdown:
Licensing Fees: Distinct fees are associated with each step, including document evaluation, structured practical training, and licensure.
Provincial Variability: Each province and territory in Canada may have different licensing fees; candidates should refer to the SCPP’s “How to Apply” section for specific costs.
Additional Expenses to Consider
Supplementary Education:
Candidates may need additional language or pharmacy training, which can include costs for courses, tutors, or study resources.
Exam Travel Expenses:
Candidates living outside major cities should prepare for travel and accommodation expenses related to exams.
Immigration Costs:
Immigration, if applicable, involves further fees. Details are available on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website.
Living Expenses:
The cost of living across Canada varies widely, so candidates should plan accordingly.
